‘Perfect Pitch’ workshops enable retailers to create compelling business proposals.

Retailers throughout the UK have benefited from a series of interactive workshops presented by Stuart Cross, founder of Morgan Cross Consulting.  Members of Leading Edge, part of IGD, the food and grocery experts, have had the opportunity to learn about what it takes to gain senior management backing for their business proposals, and how to achieve this. The methodology is relevant for managers in any industry.

“All business managers are required to develop business cases and proposals,” said Stuart Cross. “In order to attract the commitment, support and funding that transforms your concept into a high-performing initiative, you need to remember that there are 5 key elements to the proposal:-

  1. You have a big idea that meets key objectives
  2. Your idea is compelling and credible

  4. You can manage downside risks
  5. You are clear about what you need from the decision maker

“Managers must remember that it’s not just the idea that counts,” explains Stuart Cross.

Delegates from retailers and manufacturers such as Mars, The Cooperative Group and Wm Morrisons attended the workshops that were held in Bradford, Northampton, Reading, Derby, Manchester and London.  The delegates found the interactive workshops to be informative and engaging. “The style and delivery were excellent and made for a fun and informative session” said one delegate.
