‘Perfect Pitch’ workshops enable retailers to create compelling business proposals.
Retailers throughout the UK have benefited from a series of interactive workshops presented by Stuart Cross, founder of Morgan Cross Consulting. Members of Leading Edge, part of IGD, the food and grocery experts, have had the opportunity to learn about what it takes to gain senior management backing for their business proposals, and how to achieve this. The methodology is relevant for managers in any industry.
“All business managers are required to develop business cases and proposals,” said Stuart Cross. “In order to attract the commitment, support and funding that transforms your concept into a high-performing initiative, you need to remember that there are 5 key elements to the proposal:-
- You have a big idea that meets key objectives
- Your idea is compelling and credible
- You know how to make it happen
- You can manage downside risks
- You are clear about what you need from the decision maker
“Managers must remember that it’s not just the idea that counts,” explains Stuart Cross.
Delegates from retailers and manufacturers such as Mars, The Cooperative Group and Wm Morrisons attended the workshops that were held in Bradford, Northampton, Reading, Derby, Manchester and London. The delegates found the interactive workshops to be informative and engaging. “The style and delivery were excellent and made for a fun and informative session” said one delegate.
The organiser of the event, Shannie Ritchie, Development Manager of Leading Edge – IGD, was pleased that everyone felt that their own objectives had been met; “Stuart shone at our series of evening events for those working at all levels in the Food & Grocery Industry. The feedback from the event has been extremely good and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him as a speaker or trainer,” she explained.
Morgan Cross Consulting, based in Newark-on-Trent, works with market-leading organisations to develop and deliver high growth strategies. “Enabling managers throughout the organisation to have their voices heard and their business proposals approved, helps drive the whole company forward,” continues Stuart.
